I know the feeling Dan!
I went to the junkyard with my Dad one weekend, looking for parts for his 1966 Lincoln.
We spent the day pulling out a rear end, and we were walking back to go pay at the front (this was at the Lomita yard, Alex knows where). As we got to the isle that leads to the front, my Dad says "There is a Firebird, go look at that car".
I said no, as I was tired from doing most of the work, pulling out the rear end.'
As we walked by, I saw that the Firebird (it was a 1980 plain jane Bird) was stuffed full of all kinds of stuff, in the interior.
I told him to wait, and walked over to the car.
I couldn't believe what I found.
Both front Recaro seats, and the complete rear seat set, from a 1984 15th Anniversary Trans Am! And it was all unbolted already!
I got a big cart to haul it all, and when we got to the front, they charged me only $35.00 for it all!
My Dad had tons of '66 Lincoln parts, and he told them to add my stuff to his bill, since I helped him for over 4 hours, getting out his parts.
So, my $35.00 bill was free (even though I worked 4 hours, but it was fun).
We have run the seats in Lisa's '74 Trans Am, while out in Los Angeles, and now, they sit in her '91 Firebird.
The rears just sit in a shed, wrapped in plastic bags.
Now, I only have one section of an early '82-'84 hood scoop, but I do have 3 complete hoods, with the functional scoops, one crossfire, and 2 carbed.
A friend just dropped off a Firebird flat hood ('82-'92) for free.
It was just sitting in his yard for about 10 years or so.
He had put on a fiberglass cowl hood on his Bird.
They did open up a yard out here, but I do miss all the yards out in SoCal!
I may have to visit SoCal again, and visit the yards again.
Just small stuff, as I won't have a truck.
Glad you scored Dan!
