I purchased an NOS 15th Anniversary front wheel and was blown away by the stainless trim. Shined up and beautiful. Mine are chalky, dull and the blue stripes are all dinged up. With the chances of finding three more NOS wheels very remote has anyone restored them and can share some info as to how its done.
Also I had my new tires "static" balanced so I did not have the weights on the blue stripe - good move or bad move.
Thanks!

Hey Rich, I know a few people here have refinished the wheels so I'll let them give you the details! But it can be done fairly easily. They can either be stripped chemically or with a soft media blaster. The lips can be polished with simple sanding/ polishing techniques and the white can be repainted by a compotent paint person. The only thing that I am unsure of is repainting the blue stripe. I have seen 1984 Fiero Pace Car owners simply use a red pinstripe instead of repainting the line. I'd guess that the "PONTIAC" script could be done with a fine brush and a steady hand. I have a few NOS ones and the trouble is finding a matching set, they all seem to have a different petina to them. You would probably be better off getting all four refinished at once. As far as the stick on weights you should be fine as long as the person balancing the tire knew what they were doing.
