Never seen them before. I've seen a picture somewhere that said "Eastern 150". Everything else appeared the same as a DT500.
The only thing I notice thats different, besides the paint and the lack of emblems/decals, is the PMD seats, instead of the Recaros, and the non-locking gas door. I was going to say the lack of T-Tops, but Im almost positive the DT500 was avaliable with a hard top.
I would also say the rust spots on the front edge of the hood arent on a DT500. Well, they're on mine, but not originally. So thats 3 right? What do I win?

Well, after about 5 seconds of searching, I found that I saved that picture to my computer. Its the only one I have. Anyone know anything about it?

Look close at the front of the car. I believe the cars are at the International Motorsport Hall of Fame. motorsportshalloffame.com/On the Eastern 150 Pace Car the NASCAR decals are not placed in the DT500 locations. I remember seeing that picture.

No "Trans Am" in the front grille insert.

If there’s one trophy a driver dreams of putting his hands on, it’s the Harley J. Earl trophy. Awarded to the winner of the Daytona 500, the Harley J. Earl trophy is one of the most prized possessions in motorsports.
Named after Harley J. Earl, a famous General Motors designer and friend of NASCAR founder Bill France Sr., the Harley J. Earl Perpetual Trophy rests year round inside DAYTONA USA, “The Official Motorsports Attraction of NASCAR,” and bears the name of every Daytona 500 champion.
Each year, the Harley J. Earl Perpetual Trophy makes a trip outside the attraction to the hallowed grounds of Gatorade Victory Lane at the “World Center of Racing” for a meeting with the Daytona 500 champion.
While the Daytona 500 champion doesn’t take home the Harley J. Earl trophy, the winner of the “Great American Race” is awarded a replica Harley J. Earl trophy, which has a black base with a scaled-down replica of the Firebird One that Earl created in 1954 at the peek of his career with General Motors.
For the 50th Daytona 500, that trophy will be painted gold.
The Harley J. Earl trophy is just one of three trophies awarded on the day of the Daytona 500.
The winning crew chief of the Daytona 500 champion is awarded the Cannonball Baker trophy, which is named after the famous coast-to-coast racer who was elected the first national commissioner of NASCAR in 1948 while the owner of the winning Daytona 500 champion is awarded the Governor’s Cup.

Here is an 83 DT500/ Eastern 150 pace car I checked out this past summer in Maryland. It was for sale on ebay, one owner car. He had it since 83, about 30k on it.. One of the nicest ones I've seen. I wonder if it could be the same car that transformula87 posted. It has the same type of louvers. The driver side door still had the Daytona 500 decal, while the passenger side said Eastern 150.

Thanks for posting the pics of the Eastern 150 car. I've never heard of one before. I had never heard of it before this car either. I googled it and found that the race was run for about ten years in the late 70's and early 80's. I forget which track. According to the owner this car was supposedly a pace car for the race, he didnt have any documentation, thats the story he heard when he bought it. The car had passed through a few dealerships in 83 then he got it. The front bumper showed evidence of paintwork which occured before he took ownership.
