cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320335275429I thought nobody would even approach my insane bid of $155, because the last one of these I won on ebay, I paid around $50. Anyone know who the winner is? I hope that thing goes into good hands, or better yet that the buyer bows out.

Anyone who pays that much has GOT to be at the least a trophy collector or Third Gen fan. Let's just hope they know what they have.

Congrats, simo. Man, I was hoping to do a little side by side comparison with my other wooden firebird, but I guess it'll have to wait for next time, if there ever is a next time! The model I have is based on an 82 T/A, and has less detail than the Daytona. pics can be found below, but I cannot guarantee the link will work forever so get 'em while u can: http:// fios.geezerlab.com:8080/ds3/woodenfb/ GT

Notice the N89's have 24 fins instead of the real-life 25, just like the plastic model it was molded from. I found that bizarre/cool.

Kizz - Cool side by side pictures. Do you have any of the 1983 DT500 stuff?
I collect all of the 1983 Daytona 500 Stuff.
If you have problems with Kizz's link there is an extra space after the two forward slashes. Just remove the space after you paste it or remove the %20 if you enter it and it errors out.

I really don't collect a lot of 83 Daytona stuff at all, except I do have a full size 1983 Nascar calendar with Natalie on the cover with the 83 Daytona which has the one-off set of wheels that say PMD / Aero instead of Pontiac Aero. I've been told it's rare but I don't know. She was quite a hottie (and so was Natalie)

That is the recalled '83 Pontiac calendar. A bunch of conservative whinners got all upset about the Pontiac calendar with a sexy girl posing with the cars. My dad has that calendar too. He never sent it back.
