Playing with LEDs

I was playing around with some LEDs today.

The '82 and '83 shift indicators don't illuminate from the factory and the '84 indicator is different. The connector for a light is there so I plugged in the wiring from an '84 and installed the LED where the tab from the 5-speed indicator inserts into the shift plate.

I also installed two LEDs in the radio because it was barely visible during the night.

Very nice. I like the illuminated shifter pattern.

Will all of the gauges be blue eventually?

Personally I am partial to the red/orange of the 84's and 83 DT500's.

I replaced the lights in the gauges and HVAC with cheap blue bulbs four years ago. They have turned blue green but they look good to me as is. I haven't decided what color to go with yet. The LED blue or the blue/green color. The factory color was too white/plain for me.

I also like the red/orange but I want to keep it close to stock. (Only I can have a car that has been so modified and yet be concerned with keeping things factory) I also like variation and my DT500 already has the red/orange.
