1983 Daytona 500 Trans Ams in Itasca Illinois

I thought I knew alot about Pontiacs, check out this guys stuff. He knows more about Trans Ams and Daytona 500 Trans Ams then pontiac does. I bought some parts for my 83, which I got a great deal on, and besides that the stuff for these 83-84 are getting harder and harder to come buy. I mentioned this site to him and he said he was a member but was banned for making comments about a 83 DT500 on Ebay that a tree had fell on. I tried to download pics but couldn't ...some help

He also has alot of parts for 83 DT500 specifically. He even showed me new material for the seats. That included the leather, pigskin insert and Pallex cloth ,material. He also has Aero wheels with caps and a whole buch more...

can you get me some console button springs? My console lid wont stay down it pops up every so often

There isn't a spring behind the console button. The GM bean counters got a hold of the design. There are two plastic fingers that are part of the button and flex when the button is pressed in. After a while the fingers break off and the console lid won't stay latched anymore. GM must have saved a $penny per car by not using a spring.

I took apart the console lid on my car and installed an actual spring. Its worked perfect ever since.

There are two plastic tabs that provide the "spring" action. I also replaced them with a normal spring a while back.
