There are a small number of people who love the DT500.
The younger third gen crowd is looking for more easily to modify cars with TPI, better brakes, higher stock hp and so on.
The economy with gas prices as they are has hurt the sellers.
When the 15th and 20th Anniversary cars came out they really hurt the DT500 as a collectible.
Now the actual car, wrong color paint, head light doors painted all white and overspray on the turn signals would be a turn off for me if I was looking for another one.
The people who are looking at the DT500 as a collectible are looking for unmolested low mileage cars and will pay for it. I bought my 24,000 mile car last November for a good deal. It was a local car to me that did not sell for reserve on e-bay and the owner remembered seeing my first 5-speed when it was new in the same city he lives in. I paid more for that car in 1985 then this one and it had 32,000 miles on it.
The ones looking at the DT500 for a daily driver will pass on the CFI and LG4 cars to buy an L69 or other higher hp car.
I think the DT500 is the best looking third gen out there but looks are not everything.
