I've heard that Recaro seats occasionally came in 1982 T/A's (Non-Recaro editions). I have seen a pic. every now and then of a non-recaro car with the black recaro's.
Was this a dealer thing?

Most likely a dealer install just like the Viscount "PMD" seats in '83 model year cars. The body tag on the radiator support will tell if it came with Recaros from the factory.
