I was wondering if there are any aftermarket suppliers who make the correct hood insulation for the "power bulge" hoods, with Crossfire Injection. I can't seem to find any and always see the regular flat hood insulation. I have seen the correct insulation for Crossfire Camaro's and I asked the supplier if they make them for Trans Am's with crossfire...they said they didn't.
If anyone knows where I can get this, please let me know!!
Thanks.

I can give you the GM p/n (14099508) for the 83-87 Trans Am Hood insulator (w/ Turbo hood). The 82 Trans Am Turbo Hood insulator was disco'd before the third gens even left production! I'd try the GM dealer for the later style, but I couldn't vouch for the availablility. Failing that, junkyard? Year One has a few third gen parts, but the overall resto market has yet to gear up for our cars

You can still get the hood pads from GM if you have a friendly parts guy that will take the time.. they fit the CFI cars also.. there isnt much of a difference for the clearance ..

In fact I try and tell everyone this..CHECK your local dealer first before you buy any part..a lot of parts are still there maybe a different part number but you can find a lot of them..and remember it might not just be a firebird part other cars use the same part
